Active Account Explained

You receive 85% of the sale amount and you must work with clients when the logos sell. The work you have to do will usually involve changing or adding text, changing fonts and changing colors, but can also include minor changes to the designs themselves. See the designer handbook for details.

Remember that we offer clients a 1 business day turnaround time. If your client waits longer than 1 business day between revisions, LogoGround will reassign the logo to a staff designer and you will lose most of the money from that sale!

Passive Account Explained

You receive 70% of the sale amount when your logos sell. When a sale occurs, you don't have to work with the client on revisions. There is nothing that you have to do. The work will automatically go to a LogoGround staff designer. He or she will work with the client on your behalf. All you have to do is spend your 70% of the money. :)

We will still send you a notification for every sale, just for your information. When our staff designer has completed the work, we will send your 70% to your PayPal account, as always.

Remember to Remove Logos Sold Elsewhere!

Even if you have a Passive account, you are responsible for removing logos from LogoGround if those logos sell on other web sites, and for removing logos from other sites if they sell on LogoGround. We can't help you with that task, because we don't have access to your accounts on other sites.

Please don't forget. If we detect that your logos are being sold more than once across different platforms we will likely delete all your remaining logos from LogoGround and close the account.

Effect on Ranking

Your account type has no effect on your designer ranking or on the individual ranking of your logos. If you switch from one account type to the other, your logos will continue to be available for sale on LogoGround and they will continue to rank in the same position in search results. Clients can see and buy your logos no matter the account type.

About Inherited Accounts

It is a tough topic, but it is something we have to consider.

When you are no longer around, we want your money to go to your family. If someone in your family can work with your clients to do revisions etc., they can simply take over the account. They can benefit from your hard work every time one of your logos sells, even if that is 10 or 20 or 100 years from now. We prefer that they change the name on the account, so that we know who we are working with, but everything else can stay exactly the same.

Or they can switch to option 2 above. If no-one in your family can (or wants to) work with your clients to do revisions etc., one of our staff designers can do that for them. Your family will then receive 70% of every sale, as explained above. They will not have to do anything at all. We'll take care of your clients and we will send 70% of the money to your family every time someone buys one of your logos, forever.

What you should do now:

Consider updating your will to specify who inherits the copyright to your logos.

Make sure that your family knows about your LogoGround account and that someone knows (or will receive) your login details.

Make sure that they know about this page, so that they can switch between account types if they need to.

Make sure that they will be able to access your financial accounts, so that they can access the money when we send it.

If your logos are being offered for sale on multiple sites, it is important that the person who inherits your logos/account understands the need to remove the logo from other sites when they sell on LogoGround, and vice versa. If we detect that your logos are being sold more than once across different platforms we will likely delete all your remaining logos from LogoGround and close the account.
